Why P2D rather than PTT?

Why do we call our new services P2D rather than P2T or PTT, when we are only offering “Push to Talk”? Because Push-to-Talk is only the first of a number of  “push” services we shall develop and offer our clients during 2009 and beyond.

For example, we will be launching our “Push to Track” and our “Push to Alert” service in April/May this year.  Using “Push to Track” a user will be able to track any GPS enabled device on its travels. The track display is overlaid onto Google Maps, allowing the user to have an easy-to-use real time view of where your staff are currently located. Clicking on the icon will start a PTT conversation with the selected staff member.

Tracking can be a powerful tool if you need to route the nearest employee to an incident, or have a need to make an urgent pick-up, etc. It can also be used for Health and Safety purposes.

Talking of Health and Safety, our Push to Alert provides staff with a discrete method to alert the controller of a problem. This could be a very powerful feature if used by retailers, for example, to indicate an incident is taking place in their premises, but the retailer does not want to escalate an already stressful situation. Or it can be used in lone worker situations, ensuring you, as an organisation, meet your duty of care to any employee.

Call us if you want to discuss further. Meantime keep watching the website and these and more P2D services will become available during 2009.
