MobileWorks in Canary Wharf
MobileWorks is pleased to be helping Canary Wharf Management assess the capability of interactive touch screens within their estate.
As anyone who has ever been to Canary Wharf will know, it is a large estate with many levels, shops, offices, and facilities which makes it a complex place in which to navigate from one location to another. Canary Wharf is exploring possible alternatives to traditional “hard copy” way-finders, and is using our eSense wayfinding software for this exploration.
While the Canary Wharf installation will be a “stand-alone” solution in the first instance, and therefore will not be able to take advantage of some of the features eSense can offer – such as sending text messages to mobile phones giving the requested directions – it will nonetheless offer users with a higher level of interaction with a touch screen than they might have experienced before as it is already gesture sensitive. For instance, you do not need a scroll bar to move the area that is “in focus”, just move your finger up or down to scroll through a list! Want to move that floating window out of the way, then just flick it.
If any of our readers work in Canary Wharf, why not pop down to try it out yourself, and please give us some feedback. You can find it just outside the Canary Wharf Management Suite under the Canary Wharf DLR Station. Send your comments to info[at]mobileworks.ltd.uk or post them below.
