To fully support their requirements MobileWorks undertook a series of developments to Maestro, but we think the most exciting new feature is the ability for users to now be able to design their own mobile forms!

The forms designer is very easy to use. It builds on the exisitng mobile forms; users can define up to 5 different field types, but in any combination they wish for; they can also turn off, or on, virtually all of the existing fields used by MaestroMobile. Once the design is complete and the user is satisfied, all they need do is press the Form Save button, and that is it – the form is automatically downloaded to all PDAs, and is ready for use.

Part of the reason for Dunfermline to make these requests is that it does not have a traditional “CRM” database application, so they had no easy way to print business address labels. The above changes means that Maestro now performs this function, yet again demonstrating how flexible the application can be in meeting user demands.

P2D can have a real impact on mobile phone costs. By emulating 2-way radio, and using the same data channel as used by Maestro, P2D can replace the need for virtually any mobile phone charges and costs as little as £8.00 per month!

To ensure organisations meet their “duty of care” obligations, all MobileWorks products now have the ability for tracking, raising alerts, and “man down” (assumes the use of a handheld terminal with suitable in-built accelerometers – call for more details).

Scheduled for release in March 2010, Matrix will bring to Maestro users a whole new way of creating and distributing comprehensive reports

Maestro already provides its users with basic report generation capability, but you need to use external applications like Excel to create charts, and manipulate the data into a nice report, or you need to purchase something like Crystal Reports to access the data in the Maestro DB. The problem with this approach is that you probably need other personnel, and a lot of time, to create the report you want.

Not with Matrix.

Matrix is an new module that can be purchased and added to the Maestro system. It is very intuitive, and guides users through the report generation process. Users select the report type, then Matrix will present them with the data types that are relevant to that type of report – users literally “drag and drop” the relevant data type onto the matrix, and in real time you will see the report start to be created.

Got the data in the wrong axis? No problem, just drag it to the right axis, and watch the report change as you move fields. Want to add more fields, drag them to the relevant axis. Want to have a map showing all the locations of a specific problem – Matrix does that too.

The initial idea was to run a trial with Maestro for 3 months as a comparison test, and then inSwindon would make a final decision on which system to opt for, but Maestro is so comprehensively better that the trial was less than a month old when the decision was made in its favour. Offered as a software service and using mobile phone networks to provide the network connectivity, there is NO capital expenditure required. Sentinel Lite is able to provide Mall managers and operators with a complete retailer intranet WITHOUT the capital expense of installing such a network, purchasing the software, etc, just a low monthly license fee and then only for the components you need.

Maestro will keep the Red Caps on line and in touch, even while out on one of their regular patrols.

It will help the Red Caps record any problem that is reported to them, or is encountered by them, and will take an active role in helping manage the problem resolution by automating many of the steps required to successfully fix a problem.

The expression “A picture paints a thousand words” is as true for Red Caps as it is for life in general; Maestro takes advantage of this by allowing a Red Cap to take a picture of a problem, and making the picture an integral part of the problem report, forwarding it to any party that is involved with the problem resolution process. Maestro also monitors times taken to do each step, and is able to escalate a problem if steps have taken to long to be performed.

Already in operation with other organisations in the UK, Maestro is proving to be a powerful additional tool to mobile wardens, and helps organisations increase their efficiency, reduce their overall costs and enhance their image through comprehensive reports.
