Demonstrating “Value for money”
Whether you’re a private company or a public institution one of your main business objectives is almost always to not only be creating value, but to be seen to be creating value, to be “Value for Money” to your client base. Most companies don’t have a big problem with creating this value, but often find it’s just that much more difficult to demonstrate the value to others; if you’re a Business Improvement District you have to demonstrate this value to the businesses that pay the levy; if you are a council then you have to demonstrate your value to the public, etc.
Therefore the question that arises is “How do we do this effectively?”
Answer: Reports
Of course the answer is easy and obvious, but it is the actual creation of the required reports that is usually not so easy because: (a) you have to collect the data that makes up the report, (b) you have to make sure that the data is correct, (c) you then have to create the report itself.
However, any organization that uses Maestro does not have these problems – the data is already collected and readily available; the data is not only already correct, it is also fully up-to-date; and the process to create reports is completely automated – one push of a button is all that is required.
Maestro is made up of three main elements; a handheld device for your wardens that uses the mobile network to communicate with a central server; the central server that tracks all tasks, problems, surveys, visits, etc, and finally the control console that allows managers to monitor the system, allocate tasks, view events, generate reports, etc.
Equipping your Wardens with Maestro allows them to:
- receive the latest information on outstanding tasks,
- verify problems that have been previously entered have been fixed in the allocated time
- conduct business visits and report the outcome,
- conduct surveys with passing pedestrians, or with the businesses,
- report problems that they encounter while on patrol, with the ability to attach pictures to them,
- and gather general information via tally sheets.
The data collected by the Wardens is sent to the central database and can be accessed by management at any time. Reports can be created quickly, and efficiently. How many incidents of Anti-Social Behavior did you deal with in the last year? How often did you deal with fly tipping? How quickly did you resolve a problem reported by a business? What were the results of the business survey you undertook? All this data, and far more, is at your fingertips when you deploy Maestro.
